Vuvuzelas going crazy, fireworks being blast, and massive traffic jam...is definetly not a good place to be...but i was there...Malaysia vs Indonesia...the first time in 14 years Malaysia is in the final...sold out 90,000 fans was packed in like a Tuna...with 25% of them were Indonesian fans...the atmosphere was really tremoundous...where Malaysia won the game by 3-0...the moment the Referee blew the final whistle...the stadium was like in Volcano Eruption with massive celebration among the fans...this what the fans has been waiting for from the national team for a long time...
In 2007 when Malaysia was the co-host of the Asian Cup along with Vietnam,Indonesia, and Thailand...we where humilated by the top teams...while other co-host like Vietnam, Thailand, and Indonesia was giving a fight to the Asian Giant teams like Japan, China and all...this frustrated many Malaysia fans till some even went to the extend burning the stadium, and vandalizing the public property...this trend continued each time Malaysia lose...that why whenever Malaysia play football there will be tight security with helicopter n police everywhere...a few weeks back i and my friends was talking in my college cafeteria...i was telling them bout the current Malaysian trend...and one them said "bunch of crazy buggers only do all this"...i said to him "dude in Malaysia, football means Pride...if u take look at the history u will know and we pay a large amount of Tax to the Government...so we expect results"...he said "it is extreme man"...i told him "this is the new Revolution in a joking way"...he smiled...
I asked him "in your country what will the fans do..if your country lose"...he said "we wil just get angry scold in few words and then go home...as it is the part of the game where sometime we win and sometime we lose"...i told him "your country is just coming up in football and you guys dont pay any tax..so u guys wont feel the pinch or have the eagerness to win like we do"...he still didnt agree with me till the end...but if we look at results now..Malaysia football team is in the peak..they are coming closer to be crowned South East Asian Champions for the first time in 32 years...having won the SEA Games in 2009...having solid home record...what else you can ask for from a team that was in HAYWIRE 3 years back...ya i know the coach n the players did magnificent job by reaching this far ...but i wil say the backbone of this team is the fans....I wont say Radicalisme is good but at some point it helps the team to get results...i guess it is proven in this scenario...

Road Not Taken
When i was a kid i used to play for NPNG an academy affiliated to Selangor Mk Land a club in the Malaysian League...it is nearly 25km away from my home..my dad used to drive me there...it was great feeling to play for a club at age of juz 14...but at the same time it was hard for me to keep up with my studies...the moment i come back from training academy i wil be EXHAUSTED and have no mood to study....but this was the time i manage to meet many football personality...like Bhaichung Bhutia who played for Selangor Mk Land back in 2005...it was great feeling when senior players like Bhaichung, and Marlon James to pay a visit and train with us lads...that year was really remarkable year in my football life...finishing 2nd in the Milo League...but then my mother told me "you should take a break from football"...coz my result was not too good...and Malaysian National exam (PMR) was coming up...she didnt want me to screw up in my education...so i stopped playing football for a year...after i finish my national exam...i didnt have the eagerness to play football again...maybe i was to lazy..where my life routine was just to eat and watch TV...my weight begin to increase rapidly....where at one point i was weighing at 120kg...but under some motivation i begin to cut my fats...
I can say nearly 80% of my teammates in the academy are now playing in Malaysian League and one of them where in the National Team that took part in the Asian Game...i meet my friend(national player) few weeks back...he asked me "what are you doing now"...i said "i am in University doing Accountacy"..he said "cool"...i ask him "you are not studying anything part time"...he said "wat to study when my SPM itself flop"...he said to me he was paid RM 80,000 for just taking part in the Asian Game...but not only him all the malaysian athlete that took part...he said the club salary is around RM 5,000...i was speechless..coz a guy same age with me earning double wat i am going to earn after i be a graduate...Infact i have a friend...she represented her country in volleyball...i asked her "why did u stop playing"...she said "my mother wanted me to focus to on studies"....
If we take a look..many of us we might have the talent in something just we are not motivated in making use of it...i m not trying to say i deserve to be in the national team...but wat i am trying to say is there are many people out there which have talent but feel insecured to focus on it...coz it might effect their studies and etc...as we know in Asia your age is limited in sports industry...the moment u get injured u can just hang up your boots and go home...for instant if u hav education you might survive as you can find job..but if you dont have any education...what are you going to do to live??? This cases are largely found in Asia expect China(in china the government provide everything for the athletes)..in Europe if you are Athlete..then your work is just to play..if you are swimmer than your work is just to swim..ofcourse they go to school but their primary preference is always sport because they are paid for it since young...
For an instant Lionel Messi is he a degree holder..no..he started playing age of 3...n he entered Barcelona academy age of 13...now he is the best player in the World..same goes to Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka and etc..Messi was sponsored a treatement by Barca due to his growth problem when he was a kid...wat i see is in Europe the Athlete are really taken care from young...that why we can see the European countries always perform better than Asians in sports...i do believe if you want create good Athlete than you should start from the GRASS ROOT...in that case people will be more motivated to perform...Asia is largest continent in the Earth but there is still no any nation from Asia that has lift the World Cup in the entire History of the Competition...
