Vuvuzelas going crazy, fireworks being blast, and massive traffic jam...is definetly not a good place to be...but i was there...Malaysia vs Indonesia...the first time in 14 years Malaysia is in the final...sold out 90,000 fans was packed in like a Tuna...with 25% of them were Indonesian fans...the atmosphere was really tremoundous...where Malaysia won the game by 3-0...the moment the Referee blew the final whistle...the stadium was like in Volcano Eruption with massive celebration among the fans...this what the fans has been waiting for from the national team for a long time...
In 2007 when Malaysia was the co-host of the Asian Cup along with Vietnam,Indonesia, and Thailand...we where humilated by the top teams...while other co-host like Vietnam, Thailand, and Indonesia was giving a fight to the Asian Giant teams like Japan, China and all...this frustrated many Malaysia fans till some even went to the extend burning the stadium, and vandalizing the public property...this trend continued each time Malaysia lose...that why whenever Malaysia play football there will be tight security with helicopter n police everywhere...a few weeks back i and my friends was talking in my college cafeteria...i was telling them bout the current Malaysian trend...and one them said "bunch of crazy buggers only do all this"...i said to him "dude in Malaysia, football means Pride...if u take look at the history u will know and we pay a large amount of Tax to the Government...so we expect results"...he said "it is extreme man"...i told him "this is the new Revolution in a joking way"...he smiled...
I asked him "in your country what will the fans do..if your country lose"...he said "we wil just get angry scold in few words and then go home...as it is the part of the game where sometime we win and sometime we lose"...i told him "your country is just coming up in football and you guys dont pay any tax..so u guys wont feel the pinch or have the eagerness to win like we do"...he still didnt agree with me till the end...but if we look at results now..Malaysia football team is in the peak..they are coming closer to be crowned South East Asian Champions for the first time in 32 years...having won the SEA Games in 2009...having solid home record...what else you can ask for from a team that was in HAYWIRE 3 years back...ya i know the coach n the players did magnificent job by reaching this far ...but i wil say the backbone of this team is the fans....I wont say Radicalisme is good but at some point it helps the team to get results...i guess it is proven in this scenario...
Kwn kamu, apa country?
ReplyDeleteYou cannot compare your football industry with ours. from ur countries past i can say that unsportsman behaviour is more practised. Burning down a stadium because u lost! Will you break a PS3 if u get beaten at winning 11? Think before you write praveen. and juss because u won it doesnt mean that you shouldnt so over joyed and acting like all other countries suck! Fuck you man!
ReplyDeleteif u take a look my friend..the results speaks...can any nation achieve this kind of feat in a short period...hmmm...i guess not..i m not saying Indonesia suck..but they r better than us...their fans r more fanantic than us n i really look high on them for that..for instnat in malaysia u can find indonesian fans but in indonesia...all indonesians no away fans at all...they are great fans...
ReplyDeletei really salute the indonesian fans...there r really supportive to their country...i saw a banner from indonesian fans "garuda...kami disini untukmu walau nyawa taruhannya"...it is really meaningful and motivational..i have not seen that kind of strong message quote from any team...even in overseas...i wont mind if malaysia lose 2 indonesia...coz Indonesia is strong team...they have good history in football...but losing to lower teams than us....ya we do get angry...
ReplyDeletedude we r just showing our displeasure towards the team performaces..this is juz way we transmit our message...if it called Extremism...then no problem...coz the results matter nothing else...
